How to forward calls from Grasshopper to CaptureNow
If you signed up for Grasshopper after June 2011:
- Log in to your Grasshopper account.
- Go to Numbers.
- Check which extension your main number is being sent to and transfer to extension.
- Click on "Extensions."
- Choose the extension for which you'll be adding a call forwarding number.
- Click the Edit button.
- Click "Add a Forwarding Fumber."
- Enter your CaptureNow number as the "forwarding number,"
- Select "Calls will connect to you as soon as you pick up," enter "CaptureNow" in the Description.
- Set the call-forwarding hours for when you want calls to be answered by CaptureNow.
- Click "Add this Number."
- Make sure you have the CaptureNow line toggled on.
- Set the Caller ID to the caller's number.
- Click Save
If you signed up for Grasshopper before June 2011:
- Log in to your Grasshopper account.
- Click on Settings.
- Then Extensions.
- Choose the extension for which you'll be adding a call forwarding number.
- Click "Call Forwarding" in the sidebar,
- Turn on Call Forwarding.
- Click Add Number.
- Enter your CaptureNow number as the "Forwarding Number,"
- Select "Calls will connect to you as soon as you pick up," enter CaptureNow in the Description.
- Set the call-forwarding hours for when you want calls to be answered by CaptureNow.
- Click "Add this Number."
How to enable Caller ID in Grasshopper for inbound calls.
- Log in to your Grasshopper account.
- Click on "Extensions,"
- Click on "Edit."
- Below your forwarding numbers, click on "Options."
- Under the drop-down menu for “When a call is forwarded to me, show the caller ID of,” select “the caller.”
- Click Save.
CaptureNow needs your Caller ID, but it's turned off by default in Grasshopper.
